Beginning in 2021, Durango took the lead on the design build of a major expansion and renovation at St. Emile School. We were heavily involved from the get-go – helping the school with zoning and conditional use applications, business plans, and presentations to the St. Emile School Board, St. Emile School Parish and the Archdiocese.
The project involved significant pre-work, including value engineering, feasibility studies and budgeting exercises. After completing the planning phase, we moved forward with a 10,000-square-foot addition and a 2,800-square-foot renovation of existing space.
Construction spanned from spring 2021 to spring 2022 and included the following:
- New grand main entrance/entry hall
- Expanded corridor with 176 new lockers
- Six new classrooms
- New music room
- New large storage room
- New student washrooms
- New staff washrooms
- New mechanical room
- Two new vestibules
- New administration offices
- New multi-purpose room
- Renovations to two existing classrooms
- Renovations to walls adjoining with new corridor
With polished concrete floors, high ceilings and intricate millwork, the completed addition and renovation are sure to catch visitors’ eyes. The best part, however, was completing the project on time and on budget!
